last modified: Sunday, May 11, 2008 (5:27:51 PM CST)
Is anyone planning to go to either anime central or fanime? Anime central is this weekend in Chicago 16-18 and Fanime is next weekend 23-26. I'll be there with the store www.animestuffstore.com. Please stop by and say hello and if there are any cel meetings, please let me know.

Add Comment (0 available)After a break from collecting...
last modified: Saturday, December 01, 2007 (5:06:47 AM CST)
It's strange but if you constantly collect cels, sometimes you become obsessed. I've gone on two streaks of maybe 3-5 years of just constantly reading cel forums and checking if sites update and trying to be the first one to order if I see something...It was such an obsession I remember not wanting to go out with my friends sometimes...
I took another one year break this year(mostly do to my trip to Japan and constantly working). I needed to think about it some more and now I'm a little more mature than before and it's not as big of an obsession I think. I can honestly say I love the pieces I buy and if I don't I don't try to make the money I paid for it back, I just put it up on ebay for a low starting bid just so that someone else could be happy with it.
I think that a while ago I was the kind of cel collector that I personally didn't like. I tried to get the lowest price on cels and often sold when there was a high trend. For instance I was poor and in high school so I sold all my FY cels that I had acquired very inexpensively and acquired huge profits to buy the rest of my collection. I didn't love my pieces like I do today. I'm glad people can grow up and move on. I realize now that in order to collect cels as a hobby you can't try to have better cels than the next person...you can't try to buy every cel you see...just really love the cels you buy and you'll be happy. I have some old pieces and have just recently acquired a few that I will put up later on in the month. I give props to those that can realize what I did in my epiphany the first time.

Hey everyone,
I got back from Japan last week -_- and it has been quite hectic. I know I didn't come by that often while I was gone, but it's because I didn't have internet. I went online only to check e-mail and then came back. Anyways, I hope that my transition home will be smooth and that we can talk again like I was never gone =) Either way, it's good to be home. I have a few cels to update but I'm pretty poor now so I probably won't be buying for a while. Back to work =)

?????????Hellooooo everybody...I'm currently in Japan so if you haven't seen me around lately on aim or anything that's why. Japan is everything I had hoped it would be. I came just in time for Hanabi last week. I recommend coming here to study if you can. The school makes it really easy for you. I have yet to see anything anime related except in a toys R us...it's kind of strange to see all these places from america with japanese scribbled all over them. I have yet to eat at any of them though. We mostly go to small japanese restaurants, bento places, or convenience stores. I've been pretty busy trying to settle in. I finally got my cell phone yesterday, its horrifying try to get in touch with people otherwise...anyways...just thought id say hello

I probably will be unable to go this year though because of Japan...Cutie...if I can find a Mandarake store and they let me take pictures...I will (I got a new Digital Camera for Christmas) and to the Curious one...we're going to Belize, Honduras and Mexico
Thanks guys for the warm welcomes. If anyone needs anything...let me know =)

So, I haven't really been around much...only a few people seem to care, but it's ok -_- I've been really busy. I finished my schooling in the US, next semester I'll be studying in Japan most likely (about 95% sure). I'll be devoting all my time to Purple-plum.com for now, but I hope that it will be the rest of my life =). I really love the store, anime, the people, it's great.
Next year (2008) we'll be touring lots of conventions, if you have any suggestions, please let me know. This year they will most likely go to some without me, how many? I don't know.
I haven't been too active in collecting, I have some cels to post, but I've been lurking a little. Hopefully I can catch up, but most likely I won't be around to much until after the holidays and then I'm going on a cruise jan 6-jan 13th.
So Happy Holidays everyone!

Well its back to school for me, we start last wednesday and I just remembered that I forgot to make my last update. It's unfortunate but my precious new collection will not be updated for at least a few more weeks. I had some pretty big wishlists cels coming and actually a cel that I never knew I had.
But, its only the first week and already I have more to read than I can handle, and we have teachers talking about how carefully you have to read ugh..this year is going to suck

Ok...I know that most guys always call girls crazy...and that I shouldn't be offended by it when it happens...but doesn't everyone go crazy once in a while? And what do you define as crazy? Someone who is right and you're afraid to admit it?
Anyways the reason I brought it up is becuase I got into a fight this weekend with my boyfriend over something little that blew up into a huge deal...and it literally made me crazy...he called me crazy...I thought I was crazy and it was pretty much the worst weekend of my life...and I just can't stop thinking about it...I have nightmares about what happened...the conversations that happened afterwards and now I can't even tell the difference between my imagination and reality...I'm seriously going crazy...

Add Comment (2 available)Otakon 2006 Recall
last modified: Wednesday, August 09, 2006 (12:31:15 AM CST)
Well Otakon 2006 was a big success, this year we had two booths located at 409 and 508. We sold somewhere around 520 diecut keychains, over 60 different kinds of plush, and who knows how many other things...we really had a lot crammed into two little booths.
My sister and I visited artist alley for the first time at otakon and we were pleasantly surprised. The artist alley at anime central is just a gallery where you place bids or purchase artwork. At Otakon, there are artist booths where you can purchase buttons, prints, cosplay items all made by an artist. I was very excited and if you were there...I was the one screaming that everything was so cute...there were a couple people laughing at me. haha
Saturday was the cel gathering at the holiday inn across from the convention center. I spent most of the time talking to Robert from Frozen Time and Jenn from Starlight X and the infamous Curt from Asylum Anime. I had seen Robert last year but got formally introduced this year and I had seen Curt about 6 years ago when he brought some of his oversized pan collection (drools) to anime central. I met Jenn for the first time this year and we flipped through her collection a little. She showed us her cel that she gots signed this year (honestly i dont remember who the guests were...i dont really know too many artist names) but she was second in line and so she got a cool drawing done in addition to her two signings.
In addition to those three, I also go reaquainted with Syan (who im not sure if i ever learned her real name) and deanna the meeting creator (foechadan). I also got a slight introduction to the curator of mei's world cels. He is a mostly miyazaki collector. I saw but didnt get a chance to talk to sensei until he stopped by our booth and I met his lovely daughter whos name I already forgot...forgive me -_-. She was very kind and cute because I gave her a discount (she bought a momo plush) btw if you do stop by our booth I will always give a small discount of some sort. Just mention rubberslug and of course ill ask who you are and stuff but ill know.
I didnt really stay that long at the meeting I wish we introduced ourselves again because I didnt really know who everyone was and I'm good with faces but not with names. You RS east people are lucky to get to meet so often -_- I almost didnt go too because I was so tired from working all the time. Really glad I went though even though I left early. Because we're not from around there...my ride needed to move his car at around 11 so we just left because otherwise hed have to pay for parking again and I would feel bad about that.
Next years otakon was also announced it is july 20-22. We find it weird how close it is to expo and comicon...so we will see we were planning on going to expo next year...but who knows I'd like to continue to go to otakon because I find the people very nice and our customers very kind. So I'd like to thank the staff at otakon and the people that make it a success.

If you're planning on going to otakon this year and are interested in meeting other rubbersluggers or betarians...then you should let foechadan know. She organized last years get together and has started organizing this years also. You can find a forum post on beta and on the rs forum for details, and if you still have questions, you should send her an email or something. -_- Look forward to seeing you all...come stop by the booth!

Add Comment (3 available)CCS cels for sale/offer
last modified: Tuesday, June 20, 2006 (5:10:41 PM CST)
Hey everyone,
I've spent too much money and have very little left. I'm starting to sell some sequence mates and a few other cels. The first batch of cels can be found on anime beta.
http://anime-beta.net/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=18429&sid=a683a6b56b7d87c7277e38231036625d
also I built a for sale site back in may. Some of the prices have been lowered but like always I will give discounts to multiple cel purchases and will take offers on existing cel prices.
http://www.freewebs.com/purple-plum/sale.htm
I planned on updating it a while ago but will figure it out later. If I dont sell too many things soon I'm going to have to move them to ebay which is something no one wants to do.

Today was the first time I have ever visited Miller Park in Wisconsin, and it is the most spectacular dome I have ever seen. Now, I have only been to three other stadiums in my life...wrigley field, the united center (all purpose dome), and memorial stadium (u of I) so I dont really have much to compare to, but it was more than I can imagine.
First of all, on the way to Miller Park, I got to visit Mars cheese castle, and I absolutely loveeee cheese, so that was a huge plus. Miller Park had 4 levels and was so much cleaner than I had remembered any park being. Additionally, this was a dome that opens and closes depending on the weather, the screens look new, picture quality was good, and there were a bunch of random giveaways and crowd pleasers.
And to top it off, our tickets were only $5 a piece -_- Parking was more expensive. I've got to hand it to wisconsin, they make sure you have a good time...

Well, school is out and for the summer, I'll probably be doing nothing. Occasionally helping out my sister, but for the most part enjoying my last free summer. In the meant time, a million beauties have shown up, and I'm going on a cel hiatus. Unless a super wishlist cel appears. I will not be purchases any cels.
I have some cels in Japan that I'm waiting on, but other than that, I will need to sell some things, trading cards, pencil boards, cels, etc before I buy anything. I need to relearn how to make webpages, even if it is a simple one. Anyone know where to find a good free webhost? otherwise I'm stuck with geocities yuckkkk

Add Comment (0 available)No Power for 24 Hours
last modified: Monday, April 03, 2006 (12:04:47 AM CST)
So...I live in the midwest in the middle of nowhere IL where I go to school and today our power went out at 7:30ish in the pm and is expected to be out til tomorrow at 7:45 pm. Apparently 96,000 people are without power. I'm not sure if it is people or households. So my phone has been off and I have been using my laptop conservatively. IN order to do homework I have now had to start going to the library and to use internet, I have to go to the library also.
It's weird because if I got one street south of where my apartment is, I would have power my refridgerator would be working I wouldnt have to conserve phone battery and I could use my laptop or internet. It's difficult to say if some of my classes will be able to function tomorrow without the power.
The power outage was caused by severe thunderstorms and winds of around 60 mph. There was a tornado warnind and the closest the tornado go to us was 6 miles. Which is very close in my opinion. It is really scary to walk around outside because it is so dark and I have candles lit all over the place and in the bathrooms.
It's really weird how sometimes life puts you in a place where you have to think about things. In the dark and when the storms were at there worst I sort of though of the time as reflection time. I kind of thought about things like what I would do if something flew in the window or where I should go if the apartment was penetrated somehow.
Natural disasters really make you think sometimes and its stuff like how lucky I am have lived in chicago where things like this arent that big of an issue or where my house in chicago has a basement that is more suited for tornados than an apartment building (even though my apartme is on the first floor) I really was thinking about how lucky I was to have experienced the things I had and my boyfriend made a good point when I was like "what about your car? What if it gets damaged" He said something along the lines of..."my car isn't important at a time like this. It is more important that we're together and safe." and that really made me think. Sometimes I really feel like hes the most composed person I know and I feel really lucky that he's mine.

Add Comment (1 available)Paper or plastic...
last modified: Saturday, March 25, 2006 (1:47:26 AM CST)
When things first turned cg and a lot of people began leaving collecting, I wonder if it had to do with them not wanting to change. Like when shows started becoming sketches I told myself that I would never pay a lot of money for paper because it was stupid...but lo and behold, I began buying paper. Why is it that I thought it was stupid? Probably a bias, because it is no stupider than buying plastic. So my question for you is why did a lot of collectors stop collecting? Was it because it became paper...instead of plastic?
These past few months, I've been selling some pieces and I know those that have been collecting for a long time started selling their collections for way less than what they bought them for. Is taking a loss that common nowadays? I remember about 4 or 5 years ago (towards the rise of cels) that it was so easy to turn around and sell a cel if you didn't want it, but now I feel like its hard to sell a cel or a sketch without taking ebay fees up the @$$ or taking a huge loss.
I feel like recently I've been seeing that plastic art pieces have been decreasing in price where as paper piece have been increasing. Is that a coincidence? I know that some pieces will forever be expensive including things like Walt Disney and Miyazaki pieces. But for shows like Naruto and Bleach where the Naruto sketch set went for $8000, I have to say, thats more than I've ever seen a cel go for. Even some of the hankens that have been around.
So why do some people prefer paper and some plastic?

The show is about a special academy where everyone in the school has some sort of special power that they call an "Alice." It's a really cute show and I recommend everyone go take a look -_-.

Add Comment (2 available)Can't we all just get along?
last modified: Wednesday, March 08, 2006 (6:21:01 PM CST)
My rant for the month....
Ah...my head hurts so much. I'm at school, and theres fights up the wazoo. Some of my friends are mad at each other and saying things behind their backs and whenever I'm with either of them, my head starts to hurt. They just keep complaining about each other and its impossible to ignore. They're like blah blah is such a b---- and shes so full of herself and blah blah blah...I usually just ignore them and hope it goes away. So at that point I usually just leave and come online.
However, people are also online and yelling and screaming (imagination is key here) and I'm getting really tired of it. If you have a problem with someone, why dont you just tell them. Theres a post war going on at cels.org forum, I did read the first post, but I dont plan on reading the rest of them. Why do you care what these other people think? You can do whatever you want...why do you care about a few peoples judgements? By defending yourself, sometimes you imply guilt. Not that anyones guilty I dont know the whole story.
On the other hand, why do cel collectors have such a hard time getting a long with each other. There's a lot of hate in the community that I wish we could get rid of. It seems like most people have beef with someone. Stop lying, stop spamming, stop doing whatever it is you do that makes people mad at you. Speak up for yourself but dont overreact. Why does everyone have such a hard time staying calm, these things wouldnt be a big deal if you don't let them be.
Ah...now that I'm done...i feel much better

I feel so good right now. I really think I am running good at life. While I was being nosy and talking to some rubberslugs earlier today, which I felt bad cause I was prying...I have super good karma right now. I have two tests on monday and I had been studying for them and I was all depressed about that, but I was able to schedule two job internship interviews next week on campus which is awesome and very difficult to do considering how many applications they go through, I won a super cheap sequence mate of a cel that my sister owns from the same person I won the first one from. Just a great day to be living, breathing, and healthy. I hope everyone is as lucky in life as I am right now. ::good luck:: -_-

Add Comment (0 available)Buyers remorse...
last modified: Saturday, February 18, 2006 (4:42:12 PM CST)
Did you ever have buyers remorse (for cels especially) and then decide later that maybe it wasn't so bad after all. Well, I bought a cel a while ago and it was really expensive but I really liked the scene and stuff. So I bought it anyways saying I might not be able to find another one. Eventually I found another shot of the same character for a way cheaper price and had immediate buyers remorse.
Well, today I was staring at the cel and the details and the quality, and I decided that maybe orginally I had thought about regretting buying the cel, but in the end, I'm still happy i did. Even if the cel costs two fold than the second one, the first one is of much higher quality.
So in the end, I was happy to say that, quality is more important than the price of any of my cels. -_- and this particular cel is one I will never sell. so yay for epiphanies

So Over winter break I got my celga package and I scanned them all and by I, I mean my sister, so seeing how lazy I am, I accidentally put the ccs cels away before I could load them with cel numbers, sketches, etc. So in January, I only loaded up the non ccs cels.
Now, Here we are about a month later...should I load them without the cel numbers? I dont really want to because then I'd forget and they would never go up...but I really want to show off my new goodies...decisions decisions...guess this just proves I'm the laziest person in the world.

Add Comment (3 available)The Atlantis Resort - Paradise Island, Bahamas - Review
last modified: Thursday, January 12, 2006 (1:18:54 AM CST)
I can not begin to explain my happiness with my recent vacation to the bahamas. I would consider the Atlantis Resort and Casino a Godsend. While the Casino is not the best (does not host poker year round because it is illegal in the bahamas) - it does have the rest of your typical games - slots, craps, carribean stud, blackjack, roulette, etc.
The Meal Plan
For the cheapest meal plan that Atlantis offers, it cost $67 per day which includes breakfast at a choice of four restaurants: Water's Edge, Seagate, Marketplace, and Murray's Delicatessen, Lunch at a choice of five restaurants: The Dive In, Sharkbites express, Platos, Cave Grill, Voyagers, and Dinner at a choice of 8: The Clubhouse, Bimini Road, Water's Edge, Seagate, Atlas bar and Grill, Murray's Delicatessen, The point at Harborside, and Marketplace. Normally I would be very upset at $67 a day, but apparently it is a bargain. When we went to dinner on these meal plans for breakfast we averaged $15-25 for lunch $15 and for dinner $65-90 dinner alone was worth it.
The Resort
I honestly can not sasy whether or not I actually saw the whole resort. The place had at least 4 water slides that I saw of, a lazy river, and more than 3 pools or 2 beaches. Where exactly I went everyday was a mystery to me. They had innertubes, jet skis, paddle boats, snorkling, and if you really wanted to swim you could.
The Drinks
As much as I loved the Resort, I hated buying drinks. If you ever go, I recommend bringing your own. A Coke was the cheapest at 3.75 and a mixed drink could cost you anywhere between $8.05 and $31. We ended up buying a bottle at a duty free shop downtown and just lounging with a bunch of friends.
Why was I there?
I went for the Poker Stars Carribean Adventure, this year just to watch, but watching made me want to tune my skills some more. This year, the winner won 1.3 million. That's quite a bit of change if you ask me. I made some new friends and overall it was a very +EV trip.
Bahamas Rating -7
Atlantis Rating - 10
Trip Rating - 10+

You know hana yori dango the anime? well it was turned into a taiwanese drama a few years ago with some really hot guys and they toured all over asia as F4 and came out with cds and stuff. The taiwanese version had "da S" as makino but her name was sanchai.
So now I was talking to my friend about Hana Yori Dango and hes like talking about a Japanese version and I was like oh you mean the anime? He's like know theres a japanese drama version!! I was like I must see it!!! Apparently there's only 9 episodes but it looks like they might make another season so yay!!

Until my recent blog controversy, I was always thankful for my family, my home, my friends, but I never realize how blessed, in fact I thought I was very unlucky recently. My dog died, my grades aren't that good regardless I have a lot of work to do. My boyfriend and I fight alot and my sister is really busy all the time so I don't have much time to talk to her. But, I have always had more food than I can eat and such. I grew up in a nice suburb and I never realized what it meant to be poor because I myself never really had money until last year, but yet I was always able to eat and such when I wanted to. My family came into money as I was growing up so we have a nice house and I was blessed with many presents.
It's sad I know, but the recent blog controversies really opened up my eyes. So this year I am thankful for many more things. I am thankful to my parents who worked very hard to be where we are at, who were also really poor when they were younger and never let that affect how they treat me. Clearly you can not be poor and buy cels, cels are a luxury item and I am very blessed to be able to purchase them.
I am thankful to Toni and Roy for letting me know how they grew up and for explaining things to me I know I am naive, but learning is an everyday process. The world is a big wondorous place so I am thankful for great rubbersluggers who take the time to educate me. I am also thankful for my great rubberslug friends and I hope that we can all get past my soup or sandwich post. I don't cutie was trying to offend anyone and I hope that we can all just get along.
We all grew up from different backgrounds, so I think it is important that we are all open minded. There are a lot of worse things out there than someone's opnions. Recently my dog passed away, lon dog also passed away, dee's dad was sick. These are not things to laugh about. All of these things are very important to each individual and instead of criticizing, we should embrace them and help that person move on.
I dont think anyone should ever hold any negative feelings towards another. I dont think anyone intentionally tries to hurt another. So let's not hold any animosity towards another and let's just all try to get along. I am thankful for life, for my family, and my friends, that means you anyone who reads this. =)
If anyone reads this and thinks this is directed towards you, please let me clarify now that I am not talking about anyone negatively. I am just stating my feelings and I take no responsibility if you think that I'm trying to offend you because I'm not. This post is to show what I am thankful for...so today instead of making someone feel bad or criticizing someone, say something nice to them, if you feel the need to respond, please feel free to do so...but keep in mind what are you thankful for?

I added an Oav clef and a mb opening cel last night. I forgot to write about it. I don't really think its worth mentioning on beta though. It's only two cels so I'll mention it in my next update. I bought them from yolanda, so I just used her pictures even though I already got the cels. I love OAV clef he's so yummy mmmmmmmmm yummy clef

I've completely run out of space and I have a large shipment coming in from YJ so I looked for Itoya books online. Theres a shop on ebay selling 6 itoya books the 11x14 ones for $53 + shipping. Mine came out to $10.25 a book which is a great deal. If anyone is interested you should go take a look.

So theres a potbellys sandwich works (clearly a sandwich co for those of you without one...quite delicious too so you should try one if you never have) anyways today they're running a promotion...give three cans of food and they'll give you a free sandwich. Now, canned foods nowadays almost cost as much as a sandwich and by me it is more than a sandwich. So...they question is...donate food that costs more than a sandwich...or buy a sandwich. dilema dilema

So I never saw the end of wedding peach, so I decided to watch it from the beginning again. I never realize that 6 min of every episode was filler. I can watch a whole disc in like an hour or so and each disc has like 5 or 6 episodes. But it is quite funny my roommate(male) was watching it with me and really enjoyed it. Good show, but a little more filler than I would have liked

I find that relationships are very complicated, and I know you're all thinking to yourself "what an obvious statement" but does anyone ever think they are more complicated then they are worth. I don't know I'm still in college, I probably don't need a serious relationship right now, maybe thats the reason I have so many problems, but right now my boyfriend keeps getting mad at me for little things and the little things cause us to not spend time together for a while and thats not a bad thing, but I wish it was more by choice than by fighting you know? I don't know its only been 11 months but how can you tell what someone means to you then? Argh complciations.

Add Comment (4 available)roommate problems part 2.
last modified: Wednesday, October 26, 2005 (4:13:09 AM CST)
So we've gotten a long for a few days, but its 4 am right now and I have a test tomorrow. So I go to the fridge to make myself a sandwich for tomorrow and the loaf of bread that I bought which was unopened was opened and not tied. I don't know how long it has been unopened so I pick it up and lo and behold it is stuck to the top of the fridge by some sticky stuff. wtf, so I go ask my roommate and he says that he ate it but thought he tied it back, so I told him that he has to replace it because I'm not eating the bread now that it hasn't been tied. Who knows what kind of bugs flew in or what not. ARRRR aggravation before a test is never good. Time to go sleep it off

Add Comment (1 available)roommate problems
last modified: Saturday, October 22, 2005 (12:05:28 AM CST)
I imagine when everyone was in college they had roommate problems, but my rommate is weird. He doesn't really contribute in buying food and is really cheap, but has a lot to saw about other things. My boyfriend threw up on a bathmat and I replaced it with one of similar quality but he thinks it "doesn't feel right" and he complains that my boyfriend spends too much time here when hes always in my room when he is here. My other rommate is pretty easy going and we agree that hes being too unreasonable, but it's difficult to talk to him without attacking him. Oh well, I'm trying to think of a way to talk to him, but I don't want to be rude and I don't want to upset him because we'll be rooming together for a while more. Any suggestions?

I don't know what exactly it is about mandarake that makes me not want to bid on things, but I just dont find that they're very friendly or that I should fund an organization that provides very nice items deceivingly. I've heard many stories of them saying there are so many sketches but a lot of them are like rain layers. They're big web auction especially, why do they need 10% on top? dont they make enough money? I guess because as a anime store owner, we try to offer the lowest prices possible.

Well, my addiction has grown too strong. It's time to say goodbye to cel collecting for a while. It's really easy to get carried away on Yj which is exactly what I did. I spent a lot of money all which I have, but I don't want to dip any further into my savings. I'm trying to save up money for the future and well cel collecting drains a lot of it. It's time to take a break maybe I'll put up a for sale page or something.

Add Comment (1 available)So I inhaled some Raid today...
last modified: Saturday, September 24, 2005 (10:30:38 PM CST)
So today I was at my boyfriends place because I was taking care of the bunny. My boyfriend went to Aruba with one of our close friends to cheer him on in a poker tournament. The trip was free so I pushed him to go, but I didn't think I'd be so incompetant by myself...I was taking care of the bunny so I was scooping the poop and playing with him and I see a bug flying around. Well when my boyfriend is home, he takes the raid and sprays it and the bug dies, me being the idiot I am I spray the bug when its really close and I inhale.
Oh great...I inhaled...I'm thinking to myself that it's not that big of a deal. WRONG If you swallow it, get it touching your skin, in your eyes, or if you inhale you're in trouble... The directions said CAUTION: ...If inhaled: Move person to fresh air imediately, if they stop breathing call 911. So here I am in a room by myself with a bunny panicking. Do I call 911, do I go home, and I was feeling drowsy afterwards. So finally I call my mom, she tells me to go to my apt. I stay around my roommates for a while a couple hours go by and im fine. It's now been about 6 hours so I think I'm okay but I had a pretty not so good day.

I think I've become an addict. I can't believe I dreamed that someone stole my cel books and I was running around frantically trying to find them and that I wasn't sure if I should post on beta...it was a very vivid dream. I own quite a few cels from the same sequences, but I find it odd that I want more. Recently a cel of sakura's mom popped up with the sakura layer on yj and I'm contemplating bidding for it. I really just want the sakura layer because I have two layers of just the mom. I wonder if it's odd that I want the sakura layer so badly. It's not even that great of a layer it's just that the cel is missing something and I think that the sakura layer would make it really cool. I'm a weird >_~

last modified: Friday, September 09, 2005 (11:22:51 PM CST)
So I finally caved in and decided to purchase the OAV eagle cel I found from a Dealer. It turns out shipping and handling and insurance is gonna cost me $32 thats a bit steep but the cel itself is decently priced. So if you're interested in anything in the bargain bin, I added prices that can be found here:
http://anime-beta.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=14799&sid=224c40cdb2bd283afea6bfe7d400618d
none of the prices are final, just what I would like to get. I'm not like desperate for money, I just didnt want to invest more money into cels for the time being. I'm only going to try to raise a certain amount. After that I don't really care anymore.

So, I'm really say that society fights within itself. There are many other things you can focuse your attention on then anger. Hurricane Katrina has killed thousands of people, and I think people should focus on the energy crisis. I hope that if you have a loved one that you can't get a hold of, that he/she is ok. My heart goes out to all of you who are experiencing difficult times right now. I wish everyone can live a happy healthy life.

last modified: Tuesday, August 16, 2005 (7:26:39 PM CST)
Today was one of the sadest days of my life next to the day I went to my grandfathers funeral. Today was the day I had to put my dog to sleep. My dog is the first dog I have ever had. He was a cute, sweet, and playful samoyed. He was kind, innocent, and cudly.
Today was one of the most diffcult days of my life. I had been anticipating this for a while, but nothing could have prepared me for watching him die. My dog for the past two days no longer ate food, no longer walked, and could no longer stand up. We carried him to the vet and on the car ride over, he tried to look out the window but failed.
So my beautiful baby, I hope you are happier now. You were my angel, and I will miss you every day of my life.

I find myself really regretting not bidding on somethings and buying others. I think a cel collector needs nerves of steel or something to survive. I find myself feeling bad if I bought someones wishlist or if someone buys mine. If someone outbids me and I have time to rebid but the first bid may have already been about as much as I can spend. I find myself rebidding anyways...

So after going to the toga party, I've decided that they are fun. You a) get to make fun of people who choose not to wear them (which were few) b) let loose a lot more when people are all dressed like idiots. My friend had the most organized drunk party that I've ever seen. The floor had tarps all over it for the beer spills, and cups for beer pongs, bumper poll table, foosball table, good music, a nice theater system that we watched old school and porn on. I have to say it's one of the best parties I've been to.

last modified: Thursday, July 28, 2005 (4:32:55 PM CST)
So my dog is really old and slow and stuff, so bunnies like sit on him and run around him and he kind of opens his mouth to bark at them, so I guess they dug a burrow in our backyard cause my dog found it and was digging up out backyard (while laying down of course) and he was eating something and I see his swing something into his mouth and eat it in one gulp. So I was like I better go check it out. I go out there and he runs to me and I go see what he dug up, apparently there were multiple dead baby bunnies, so I dragged him away. If there wasn't an overpopulation of bunnies, maybe I would have done something about it but I still felt really bad for baby bunnies -_-

So today I was driving my friend to the airport and I was pulled over by a power tripping cop. He was so mean I didn't want to say anything. (Granted I was at fault) I was driving and when I saw him, I was already next to him and I looked at my odometer and was like...crap...and I looked at my rearview mirror boom. ticket.
Bye bye $125. I could have gotten a nice cel with that money =( Everything I spend is measured in cels now. A nice dinner is a mediocre cel, a tank full of gas is a nice cel, That sewing machine I bought is a cutie li-kun cel...*sigh* someone help me

Add Comment (1 available)My dog is acting weird...
last modified: Monday, July 25, 2005 (4:20:08 PM CST)
My dog has been acting really weird lately. Yesterday he kept barking and walking around in circles around the family room. I kept asking him if he wanted stuff and I would refill his water, give him more food, stand by the door to let him out. Nope. He wanted to walk around the room. And today, he's sitting there and starts barking and I walk over to him to see what's wrong and he just looks at me and stands up and goes to eat. What a weirdo...

Add Comment (2 available)Deputy turnover time
last modified: Sunday, July 24, 2005 (12:12:00 PM CST)
So I'm not sure when to have my package shipped out. Because I'm trying to take a break, and all my auctions have ended, but I don't know if they're all received. It'd be pretty crappy if I had them sent out and I was missing one or two...what's a normal turnover time anyways? Should I wait out a week from my last auction or longer? Ah!!! What is a deputy's turnover time?

For some reason, I never see myself on featured galleries. I know i'm number 296, but I visit rubberslug a lot and its probably been at least 296 times since last week. I'm crazy when it comes to rubberslug, so why is it that I always see Jenn's or Anime Jewell. It's so weird, but I wanna see mine up there =( oh well.

last modified: Friday, July 22, 2005 (11:57:14 AM CST)
So i'm on summer vacation, but I'm a poor lowly college student and I need money so what better to do then work? Well let me tell you, if my hobby wasn't so expensive I don't think I would be working. Who wants to sit in an office and type things and stuff. Even if I do the same things at home i'm not as comfortable as home, i'm not as happy as being at home. In fact, sometimes I DO do the same things at work as at home. I wander around on the internet so it's not so bad, but why is it so painfullllllllll
oh well, back to looking at cels

We just got a bunch of new cels and decided to add a newly updated section. In that section, we'll put all the cels up that we updated in that day. For this first one, we put up the past ccs cels because we put up ccs in order by episode and sometimes it's hard to tell whats new. But we have lots of beauties comin...so keep checking back!

Add Comment (2 available)Spending Stop Update
last modified: Tuesday, July 19, 2005 (10:05:09 PM CST)
Ok, so far so good...almost 24 hours and Katie hasn't bought a cel. This is an accomplishment as I don't think this has happened in almost a month. On the down side, I bought one -_- *goes to hide in a hole* So much for Spending Stop.

I've decided that Katie's going overboard on spending, so I've put a spending stop on her. No cels but wishlist cels (and a few exceptions i.e. stuff I want). OK here we go...STOPPPPP!!

Add Comment (2 available)Rinkya sucks
last modified: Sunday, July 17, 2005 (7:18:23 PM CST)
We know no one likes hearing rants, and if you know us, you know how upset rinkya has made us. But basically, this is for all you people who have yet to sign up for a deputy service. Our recommendation is don't use Rinkya. There are many other deputy services out there, rinkya just has poor customer service. We also recommend using their webiste to look for stuff, use all their tools, but don't use their service.
Basically, we had a LOT of money we were willing to invest, but they're website doesn't update fast enough and it told us we had won and we were happy, high-fiving, and willing to pay, but later (5 min or so) it told us we had lost and someone had outbid us. How is it possible that it says we had won readjusted our totals and then tells us later that we had lost. Through this traumatic (4 dollar digit) exeperience we have decided to go ANTI-RINKYA.

Add Comment (4 available)16 more hours...
last modified: Friday, July 15, 2005 (4:08:28 PM CST)
16 more hours til subaru and seishirou end. For some reason, no one is bidding on subaru. That's ok because that means it's cheaper for me to pick up later. Luckily Subaru ends first, and I can take the leftover money from that and move it to seishirou if need be. We have a giant update coming, somewhere around 30-40 cels came in today. If the auction goes well, it'll be a celebration update, if it goes badly, it will be a cheering up update. Either way, I'll get to update yay!!!

The shirtless wonderboy is the color insert in the yaoi manga "Daten no Tsuki" or Fallen Moon by Hasumi Toui. I've only read the first two chapters so far and he hasn't appeared yet so I don't know much more than that. Be he's hot isn't he =D *drool* ~Jenny

last modified: Thursday, July 07, 2005 (10:30:00 PM CST)
So we're going cel crazy. Just started up again a couple weeks ago and now we have over 40 cels coming in. I really want more Kei-kuns (marmalade boy). I can't find them anywhere. Also more li-kuns and SD shots! Soo cute ^_^ This really is a 24 hour hobby isn't it. We have to check every day to see if anything pops up.
